Future Possible: "Beyond The Screen" VR Talk + Demo

In the 2nd edition of Future Possible, we'll be questioning the future of the screen, and what the place of the plastic or 3D arts will be as we move towards an increasingly digital, back-lit life. Our provocateur for this conversation is Mez Breeze, an award-winning creative who makes Bespoke digital fiction, interactive narrative, digital writing, games design, illustration, and transmedia design.

"The Journey Home" + Forced Affectivity in VR

So I just finished playing through this Virtual Reality Experience for the Vive called "The Journey Home" [TJH] which has left me confuzzled emotionally. At first, the experience was hard to get into with a rushed intro containing similar-sounding voiceovers resulting in the main characters being confusingly difficult to distinguish. The scenes that followed weren't polished or sophisticated by any means, but the interactivity was solid for the most part.

Intimate Mechanics: One Model of Electronic Literature

The Temple of No [aka Smooshingly Excited]

Did I ever mention how terrifically and Felix-the-cat-laughing-imbuingly-impressed I was with this crew's first offering, Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist? No? Well. I should have. It's side-splitting fun-shiny, so I'm smooshingly excited to be working my way through their latest, The Temple of No. Will report back ASAP *beep*.

"The Last Gas Station" Receives Honourable Mention in Robert Coover Prize

Well, ain't this grand? Episode 6 of Inanimate Alice, "The Last Gas Station", has received an Honourable Mention in the Electronic Literature Organisation's 2016 Robert Coover Prize: "The Robert Coover Award for a Work of Electronic Literature is an award given for the best work of electronic literature of any length or genre. Bestowed by the Electronic Literature Organization and funded through a generous donation from supporters and members of the ELO, this $1000 annual prize aims to recognize creative excellence.
